Photography draws us to relive some of the glimpses into the eternality we long for, the imago dei in each of us - the toes of a newborn child; the glow on the face of an expectant mom; that look on the groom's face the moment he sees his "about-to-be" bride walking down the aisle; the veiled smile of the bride as she waits for him as well - and the fleeting joy in the world around us - fading colors of sunset or sunrise; the beauty of the seasons - purple, yellow, pink, hazel; the hands and feet of those in need and those who offer assistance; the sadness, the happiness, and the life that is so very worth living.
I photograph because it's one of the places where my deepest joy meets some of the world's deepest needs. We all need to connect - to each other and to the world around us. We need to enjoy Life. We need to laugh and cry and find that our memories are there for us to treasure.
